Why everyone keeps coming back.

Tacos El Gordo in Tukwila, WA, is a vibrant Mexican restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of traditional taquerias right to Chevron’s doorstep. This culinary gem is celebrated for its rich, savory tacos and hearty burritos that promise a truly indulgent dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the lively atmosphere — enhanced by the colorful taco truck setup and the warm hospitality of the staff — sets the tone for an enjoyable meal.

The menu features standout dishes such as the Carne Asada and Carnitas tacos, where each bite bursts with the smoky char of grilled onions and the bright acidity of fresh lime. Adventurous diners will appreciate offerings like tripe and lengua, each prepared with care to deliver layers of complex, satisfying flavors. Beyond tacos, the asada burrito is a must-try, noted by customers for its generous size and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness.

Complement your meal with refreshing aguas frescas like Horchata y Jamaica for just $3.99 — their lightly sweet, cool essence beautifully balances the savory spice of the main dishes. End on a sweet note with indulgent desserts such as Churros Ice Cream or Platanos Fritos, each priced at $7.99. These treats provide a perfect blend of crunchy, creamy textures and offer a comforting close to your meal.

Regular patrons rave about the friendly service and speedy preparation, making Tacos El Gordo an ideal spot for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. Ben Rojas appreciates the fair prices and substantial portions, while Amber Buehlmaier notes the fresh, home-like flavors that make this a standout for taco enthusiasts. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Mexican street food or trying it for the first time, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving vibrant, expertly crafted tacos in a friendly and fast-paced environment.

I've been here a few times, and I highly recommend this spot. The tacos are all on point. You get grilled onions and some limes. I had the Carne asada, carnitas, tripe, and lengua tacos, and they were all good. The burritos are also very good. Good sized portions at a fair price.

My husband treated me to lunch & on the way to Azteca we looked up taco food trucks & this came up, we went. The truck is beautiful, it's a whole vibe. The man taking our order was very polite and so was the lady preparing the food. We ordered our food (2 tacos, asada burrito, asada fries, & 2 cokes). The man said about 10 minutes, & they had our order ready in less than 10 minutes. ANYWHO, the food!! Hands down, the best tacos I have ever had! My husband ordered the asada fries, he opened up his plate & it was CURLY FRIES, ain't no way right?! BUT YES WAY JOSE!! The fries were delicious! I ordered the burrito & no cap...THE BEST ASADA BURRITO I'VE EVER HAD! Not only did they season their food reallllly well but it wasn't messy! I highly recommend Tacos el gordo. Definitely going back for more.

Stopped nearby for a car appt and grabbed some tacos while I waited. This was the best decision ever. They are so fast and friendly! The portions are big, the food is all fresh, quality ingredients. I took one bite and it tasted like home. I can't believe it's taken me this long to find them! I'll be back for sure.

These are definitely good tacos with real taqueria manning each station. I will say that I expected the tortillas to be a little softer and for things to have just a little bit more succulence. The adobada is al pastor as far as I could tell. For the price of these tacos this is not a street tacos/just like in Mexico experience, these are pricey . You can get tacos here that would be hard to find anywhere else in Downtown SD and the cafeteria style ordering is unique. They will definitely do when you’re looking for solid tacos.
